EXPERTISE AND INTERESTS
Brendan completed his BSc in Psychology at the University of Chichester, where his dissertation focused on cross-cultural differences in response styles to Likert-type questionnaires. Since graduating in 2014, he has worked in the field of dementia across the NHS, the private health sector, the third sector, and in academic settings, including roles at UCL and the National Ageing Research Institute (NARI) in Melbourne, Australia.
In the past year, Brendan returned to UCL to complete an MSc in Clinical Mental Health Sciences, where his dissertation involved a systematic review exploring the neural correlates of anosognosia and meta-cognition in people living with Alzheimer’s disease. Overall, Brendan has accumulated nine years of experience working and studying within the fields of mental health and dementia.
Brendan is now undertaking a PhD in the UCL Research Department of Primary Care & Population Health, focusing on a mixed-methods study aimed at reducing dementia risk in UK primary care over the next three years.
