Summary

The Economics of Social Care Compendium (ESSENCE) project is being undertaken by researchers in the Care Policy and Evaluation Centre at LSE with funding from NIHR School for Social Care Research. It is identifying, reviewing and summarising economic evidence to support decision-making in England’s adult social care system and beyond.

The aim is to help decision-makers access and understand the economic consequences of different ways to meet care needs. Case summaries highlight relevant evidence on specific adult social care interventions.

A searchable online database of evidence is available: the ESSENCE Toolkit
