Join us for an insightful half-day masterclass on the use of AI in systematic reviews on April 24^th, 2024, from 12 pm to 5 pm. This unique opportunity, presented by the ARC North Thames Academy, aims to equip participants with the skills to conduct systematic reviews using cutting-edge AI technology. It is tailored for professionals keen on deepening their understanding at the intersection of AI and systematic reviews.

This Masterclass will be led by Professor James Thomas. James is based at the EPPI Centre (Evidence for Policy & Practice Information Centre) and his research is centred on improving policy and decision-making through more creative use and appreciation of existing knowledge. It covers substantive disciplinary fields – such as health promotion, public health and education – and also the development of tools and methods that support this work conducted both within UCL and in the wider community. He has written extensively on research synthesis, including meta-analysis and methods for combining qualitative and quantitative research in ‘mixed method’ reviews; and also designed EPPI-Reviewer, software which manages data through all stages of a systematic review.

 

Please note that we intend to limit the cohort size to 30 places. To best support our partners in the health and social care professional communities, we will offer free places to members of any organisation partnered with NIHR ARC North Thames. The cost for members of non-partner organisations is £150 (£180 inc. VAT). 

As demand is expected to be high, we encourage you to apply as soon as possible if you would like to participate.

 

 

Participants will receive a certificate of completion, which can be exchanged for CPD credits. Please direct any queries regarding CPD credit exchange to the relevant team within your organisation.

 

Who is the course for?

This masterclass is designed for allied health professionals, nurses, social care professionals, public health and local government staff interested in advancing their current practices through systematic review research.

Please be advised that participation in this Masterclass requires a foundational understanding of systematic reviews. This course is particularly tailored for individuals who have done at least one systematic review and are familiar with the processes and principles involved in conducting systematic reviews.

Participants must be available to attend the Masterclass in-person in Central London. We also request that you bring your own laptop to this Masterclass.

Please note that there are limited places available and applications will be shortlisted with priority given to members of ARC NT partners organisations.
