Are you passionate about making a real impact in healthcare research? Interested in upskilling in Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement (PPIE) in research? Dive into the world of PPIE at our exclusive one-off training event!

Join us for an insightful full-day training on PPIE on March 12th, 2024. This unique opportunity, presented by the ARC North Thames Mental Health Research for All project, and hosted with care by passionate stakeholders and individuals with diverse lived experiences, is your chance to upskill in PPIE methods and techniques.

What is PPIE?

PPIE is the dynamic practice of involving members of the public with lived experience of health conditions in the health research process. It ensures that healthcare research is not just data-driven but also reflects the diverse needs and perspectives of the public. As pioneers in this field, we are thrilled to co-deliver a comprehensive training program to empower you with the skills and knowledge needed to champion PPIE in research.

Why Attend:

  • Cutting-Edge Insights: Stay at the forefront of PPIE advancements in healthcare research.
  • Practical Applications: Learn to seamlessly integrate PPIE into your research projects.
  • Networking Opportunities: Connect with like-minded professionals, passionate about shaping the future of healthcare with PPIE.
  • Co-Produced with Stakeholders: Our training has been thoughtfully co-produced with stakeholders and members of the public who have various lived, living, and learned experiences related to mental health distress. This includes caregivers supporting those experiencing mental health distress or mental ill health. Their invaluable insights ensure a training program that is both impactful and empathetic.

This training will be offered for free to those within the North Thames region. We intend to limit the cohort size to 30 places. As demand is expected to be high, we encourage you to apply as soon as possible if you would like to participate. As this is a training, we are unfortunately unable to provide reimbursement for travel expenses and time spent during the event.

What to Expect:

  • In-depth insights into PPIE principles and practices.
  • Hands-on training on effective PPIE methods and techniques.
  • Collaboration with stakeholders and individuals with diverse lived, living, and learned experiences.
  • Practical application and project preparation (no prior project required!).
  • Inclusive environment for all levels of interest and experience.

Participants will receive a certificate of completion, which can be exchanged for CPD credits. Please direct any queries regarding CPD credit exchange to the relevant team within your organisation.
