Congratulations to ARC North Thames and UCL researcher Professor Kate Walters for being awarded Principal Investigator of the Year 2021 by the Society for Academic Primary Care (SAPC).

The award recognises principal investigators who provide exceptional support, leadership and encouragement for their team through the highs and lows of research, careers and life. Kate was nominated by some of the early career academic colleagues she works with and was selected by the panel of judges to be the winner in 2021.

Professor Walters is based at the Research Department of Primary Care and Population Health at University College London (UCL) and is Director of the UCL Centre for Ageing & Population Studies. Her research group focuses on health and wellbeing for older people and mental health in primary care and community settings.
