EXPERTISE AND INTERESTS

Martin Knapp has teaching, research and research leadership roles at LSE, and in the NIHR School for Social Care Research, which he has directed since it was established in 2009. His main research interests are in the areas of social care, child and adult mental health, dementia and autism. Much of his work uses economic arguments and evidence to inform policy discussion and influence practice development. His research has had wide-ranging impacts on policy and practice across these fields. For example, in the past year, he has completed reports at the request of the UK government, the World Health Organization and the United Nations.
