EXPERTISE AND INTERESTS
Orouba's research interests are in medical statistics, statistical data mining, and digital health. Her current research project is funded by the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) looking to identify cancer recurrence in linked national datasets.
Orouba completed a funded PhD to identify sub-groups of patients presenting with iron deficiency anaemia who are at increased/lower risk of gastrointestinal cancer. In her PhD study, she developed and deployed an algorithm and software medical device (the IDIOM App: https://www.predict-gi-risk-in-ida.com/) to predict the gastrointestinal cancers risk.
