EXPERTISE AND INTERESTS

Megan is an Associate Professor of Primary Care Research and the Deputy Director of Centre of Ageing Population Studies with an interest in reducing inequalities. Megan has been the principal investigator of several NIHR funded projects including (1) exploring how socioeconomic deprivation impacts the self-management of those with multiple long-term conditions (MLTCs), (2) improving MLTCs management in primary care, and (3) identifying implementation barriers and solutions of digital primary care interventions. Megan has received other grants to complement this work such as developing visual outputs outlining how academics and voluntary sector partners can work better together to address health inequalities and to increase involvement of people experiencing socioeconomic deprivation in research. Megan supervises fellowships and PhD students across a range of areas including in social prescribing, Dementia, Parkinson's and MLTCs related research.

Megan is also a co-investigator on several grants, such as exploring frailty in people experiencing homelessness, and is the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion lead for the dementia focused I-Care doctoral training centre. Megan's previous work on homelessness was an UCL REF2021 Impact case study on ‘Improving the quality and co-ordination of palliative care for people experiencing homelessness’, with the findings adopted into Hospice UK guidelines.
